Rimmel Kate Collection #4 & #14 (Flash) |
Rimmel Kate Collection #4 & #14 |
This summer I have stayed away from lipgloss, not for any particular reason, just been obsessed with lip crayons and lipsticks. Today, I'll be talking about the Rimmel London Kate Moss Lasting Finish Lipstick Collection. There are now 10 shades in this collection, mostly pinks, nudes and reds, and 2 rather odd colors, including a deep purple and a grey. The colors that stood out to me the most were #4, #15, and #14. I had heard about this collection last Fall but only recently was intrigued by the Gunmetal-Grey lipstick in this line.

#04 is a Deep Purple Color in the Tube. On the lips,
depending on the light, it can look like a deep burgundy, a deep purple, or
almost Black. When I swiped this color on, it reminded me of the early years in
Cinema and Photography.
This is definitely a lipstick for someone who is not going to be bothered with people giving you weird looks, because it is a unique color, but worn the right way and with confidence you can really work it. It is a great color for fall! Oh, & it definitely makes your pearly whites shine!

#14 is a basic Nude Color in the Tube. On the lips, it provides great creamy coverage and mutes any sign of color on your lips. If you have
pigmented lips and were looking for a good-coverage Nude to wipe it away, this
would be it – It’s practically concealer for your lips! In most light, on me,
the color appears to come off as almost a very light dusty nude-pink. For a drug store
lipstick, I was very pleased with this nude & can see myself using this on
a regular basis for work & play. Also this could possibly pass as dupe for YSL Rouge Volupte in Sensual Silk ($34), the Rimmel may be a touch more on the brown side.
#15 The ever elusive #15 - The gunmetal grey "effect" lipstick. Btw, I could only find this color at CVS. Estee Lauder actually came out with a lipstick similar to this, it's called Gunmetal Luminizer ($25). Alone, this lipstick leaves a greyish frost on your lips, it is not super pigmented, but then again it is not intended to be. This lipstick is intended to be used over any lipstick you own, and it "changes" the color, mostly making the color a shade deeper and more on the plummy side. In my case, I tested it over Tarte Lipsurgence Fiery (A matte red), and it obviously did change the color to more of a plum-red. I have a feeling that I will probably be using this lipstick alone or over nudes, because I actually like the slight grey tint to it, it's different yet subtle and surprisingly wearable - Another great Fall-Winter Addition! :)

Pros:
- #4 & #14: Very pigmented – with one swipe of this lipstick – Hello Color!
- #4 & #14: Great Coverage - You can layer the lipstick for even thicker coverage
- #15: Leaves a gorgeous grey frost to your lips, and you can layer it for more pigment.
- #15: Multi-use, can be worn alone or over any other lipstick
- It’s moisturizing on its own, on the creamy side
- Packaging is adorable and sturdy
- The finish on these lipsticks is a very mild glossy sheen, which is a great finish considering how pigmented some of these colors are.
- Price: $5.49
Cons:
- This stuff transfers all over the place – In particular, I would never wear #4 out for dinner, because your food or whatever utensil you are using is going to be covered in purple lipstick.
- Last as long as you don't wipe your lips, if you wipe, it will be gone, even #4.
Overall, these are great fall colors, and I was super
pleased with the lipstick quality, and definitely felt I got my money’s worth.
If you’re looking for some fun colors to spice up your routine, give these a
shot!
Rimmel has a great feature on their website where you can
upload your picture and “try on” some of the lipsticks. I purchased #4 & #14 for only
$1.29 (I had crazy coupons). I paid $5.49 for #15, I had to have it! You can usually find Rimmel on sale at your local pharmacy for buy 1 get 1 50% off. You can also find Rimmel in Ulta, Target, or Walmart.

Watched your video too, I also have the #15, I'm African American and I too noticed that a hand swatch of the gunmetal looks a lil purplish but on the lips its full on gunmetal looking. Thanks for the review/swatches.
