Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain - Charm, Precious, Honey

Hi All! So my chubby lip pencil obsession continues with 3 of the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains. I am biding my time till I pick up the new Tarte LipSurgence Set - it's very hard for me. Anyway, I figured it was about time I reviewed the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains for you all. I have 3 colors: Honey (001), Charm (035), and Precious (050). I wanted to pick up the neutral/nude colors from this collection because I am lacking nude and neutral lip colors in my personal stash. These pencils seem to be modeled after Clinique's Chubby Sticks, with their silver bottoms and twist up feature.

The consistency of these is a little different from your Tarte LipSurgence, it is a bit thicker and goes on with more of a creamy texture than do the LipSurgence. This is not a bad thing, but it can be a little bit of a pain if you're having a very bad dry lip day, some of these colors may accentuate your peeling lips. You get a mild tingle when you first apply these products, not much different than what you get from LipSurgence. They have a mild minty smell to them, nothing too overpowering and it dissipates quickly. They all leave a slight stain on the lips after they are wiped off. The balm stains are not drying, so don't be too put off by the word "stain" in the obnoxiously long product name. It has the consistency of the balm as it is thick and has a very mild glossy-sheen to it.

Honey:
Is a nice pinky-mauve color, it is very wearable and build-able. The creamy texture does linger with a bit a mild glossy-ness to it. This color leave a mild berry stain to the lips after it has been wiped off.

Precious:
Nude-Pink, on my lips as time went by this transformed into more of a pink tone. It mildly mutes the color in your lips with out washing them out. It is a very wearable nude. After being wiped off it does leave an extremely mild stain to the lips.

Charm
Peachy-Nude. It mutes the color in your lips and give it a slight peachy coloring to them. This color is not forgiving if you are having a chapped lip day, as I am in these photos (I apologize). However, on a good lip day, it is a very wearable nude. After being wiped off it leaves behind a mild stain.

Pros

  • Consistency: it's a creamy balm consistency
  • Moisturizing: does provide a nice barrier of protection on the lips
  • Minty: Has a very mild mint smell that does not linger.
  • Availability: Can be found at your local drugstore (Pick them up during their Revlon BOGO sales), Ulta, or Target.
  • Variety: Great spectrum of colors to choose from.
  • Leave a mild Stain on the lips after the product wears off.
  • Nice Natural Finish: A nice balmy mildly glossy finish
  • Packaging: Twist up, lid is on tight, sturdy, and the color matches the product.
  • Price: $7.49 (Prices may vary)

Cons

  • May accentuate chapped/peeling lips - then again most colored lip products do that.
  • Product Name: I'm sorry but I have a difficult time saying "Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain" without tripping over my words, it's a bit much.
I would say give these shot, they are a nice alternative to paying $16-$24 just for 1. Do you have any of the other colors? How do you like them? Let me know! Stay Beautiful!

Love,

Helen
